Field reporting on America’s public lands.

A women-led nonprofit newsroom grounded in truth, proximity, and public service.

Wild Narrative Project reports from the ground across the American West, documenting how policy and profit reshape the land itself. Our journalism is independent and non-paywalled, made possible by a growing community of readers and donors.

A Brief Introduction

A short message from our founder and editor about why this work matters.

WHO WE ARE

A women-led nonprofit newsroom reporting from the landscapes where public land policy is felt most directly.

We investigate how decisions made in distant offices play out on the ground — in watersheds, wildlife habitat, and ecosystems shaped by long-standing land use practices.

Most people will never travel into the remote sagebrush steppe or the far edges of public land — places that are easily misrepresented because they’re rarely seen. We report from those landscapes so the public can understand what’s actually happening, not just what they’re told.

Our journalism connects policy to place, bringing ground truth into public view.
